Atlanta, GA – Former NFL legend turned media personality Shannon Sharpe, host of Club Shay Shay, addresses the uproar following his now-viral “Nicki who?” comment in response to Nicki Minaj’s interview with Stationhead—amplified by her recent lyric on Lil Wayne’s remix of “Banned From NO.” In the remix, Minaj raps, “If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain’t that Sharp… yeah nigga you thought I forgot that ‘Nicki who’ shit you did?” .
Sharpe responded today, clarifying that the tweet was tongue-in-cheek and not intended as disrespect. In a statement shared via The Shade Room, he said:
“I was just surprised—really didn’t think she’d be referencing me.”
